COMSovereign Holdings, Inc. has assembled a portfolio of industry-leading, disruptive communications and power technologies as well as niche companies capable of rapid integration and expansion. We focus primarily on businesses or products to which we can apply new and unique spectral efficiency capabilities including signal modulations, antenna, software, hardware and firmware technologies. We enable connectivity across the entire data transmission spectrum. We are a US-based pure-play communications provider able to provide LTE Advanced and 5G-NR telecom solutions to network operators and enterprises world-wide.
Empowered by the collaborative leadership of our acquired companies, we will continue to develop revolutionary products within the telecom, satellite and power markets to become a pure-play provider of LTE Advanced and 5G-NR telecom technologies to network operators and enterprises world-wide.
DELIVERING 5G SPECTRUM
Spectral efficiency capabilities and signal modulation technologies enable 5G and provide a firm hardware and software platform for 6G+ and PurePlay. We have integrated the technologies and teams that solve the challenges of carriers implementation of 5G and future generations. We have carefully assembled a group of communication companies that complete the signal modulation, antenna, software, hardware and firmware requirements that accelerates the transmission of data up to 100x faster than current 4G networks.
Our unique technologies also provide carriers a method to smoothly transfer from legacy 3G networks with a 4G upgrade and 5G plug-in that enables cost-effective and faster activation of 5G systems when necessary.
THE CHALLENGES CARRIERS FACE WITH 5G
COSTS AND TIME
The scope of 5G infrastructure and spectrum licenses will necessarily translate into increased costs for customers. The complexity distracts customers and investors but most people are unaware that there is a corresponding and larger buildout of 4G LTE required for 5G to function. Infact, Deloitte estimates in 2020 4G LTE will require $18 Billion in investment while 4G will only require $4.7 bilion.
WAVE BAND MODULATION
Millimeter wave bands can carry far more capacity and deliver ultra-fast speeds that deliver a 20-fold increase over LTE’s fastest theoretical throughput. Wireless carriers still need to bid for the higher spectrum bands as they build and roll out their respective 5G networks. In the US, bidding in the 28 GHz spectrum alone reached $690 million by December 2018.
BEAMFORMING AND CONNECTION RANGES
Despite 5G offering a significant increase in speed and bandwidth, its more limited range will require further infrastructure. Higher frequencies enable highly directional radio waves, meaning they can be targeted or aimed — a practice called beamforming. The challenge is that 5G antennas, while being able to handle more users and data, beam out over shorter distances.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY
Though 5G falls under the Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA), a system designed to establish trust between networks, it would currently be possible to track people nearby using their phones. Much like it is now, the onus will be on the carriers and network consortiums to provide a digital safety net for customers, except user complacency could be equally problematic.
